Learning Experience
Recruiting Volunteers

Have you ever wondered where you’d be right now if you couldn’t read? Would you have a good job? Or would you feel hopelessly stuck with no way to fulfill your dreams?

Compassionate Justice will partner with Rockdale Academy to offer the Learning Experience program. The Learning Experience will assist children with reading and spelling; showing them how much fun learning can be! We’ll also demonstrate how much Jesus loves them through daily Bible lessons and prayer!

What better future could these children have than this; experiencing God's love for them while learning to read? But we can’t do this alone. We need 20 or more volunteers to bless the students of Rockdale.

Here’s what you need to know:

  Where:       Rockdale Academy
                        335 Rockdale Ave, Cincinnati 45229

Rights of Passage

Becoming Godly Men
Destined to Thrive!
Compassionate Justice is recruiting Christian male volunteers for the Rights of Passage (ROPs) ministry.  The ultimate goal of ROPs is for the student members to “Become Godly Men Destined to Thrive!”

This will be accomplished as we create a safe environment which encourages the development of healthy relationships while providing a variety of support including homework assistance, life skills training, Bible study, prayer and worship.  In addition, snacks, dinner, and fun activities are a vital part of ROPs life together.

Using the ROPs Success Management Performance system, members will be evaluated on their progress.  When a member performs well in a given week, he will be given the privilege of working on Saturday for a paycheck!

Volunteer Opportunities include:
  • Mentors to build relationships and just hangout
  • Life Skills facilitators on a variety of topics
  • Tutors in reading, math, science, etc. for High School age young men
  • Bible study leaders
  • Worship leaders
  • Meal volunteers to make and serve the member’s dinner

Volunteer qualifications are easy:
  • Exemplify and demonstrate the love of Jesus
  • Instill the joy of learning and encourage hope for a bright future
  • Exhibit a friendly spirit that brings smiles and encouragement to ROPs members
  • Attend required orientation and trainings
  • Make a routine commitment to be involved
  • Humbly serve with a teachable heart and follow the program design as instructed
  • Follow member safety protocols
  • Pass a background check

Compassion Outreach Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteer opportunities are available for both skilled and unskilled individuals. Most of the outreaches are “family friendly”.  And we invite parents to involve their children and students as they exemplify how to “love their neighbor”!  Everyone works at their own pace with the goals to:

•   Glorify God
•   Demonstrate our love for the community
•  Develop high quality relationships with co-workers and community residents
•   Enjoy serving together
•   Work to accomplish the project priorities

When: Second Saturday each month from 8:45 am to 1:00 pm (lunch included)

Every month on the second Saturday, CJ organizes outreaches in Avondale to serve individuals and families as well as some institutions (i.e. schools, churches, public spaces).  The outreaches include projects such as house maintenance (i.e. painting, etc.) and yard maintenance (i.e. pruning, weeding, mulching, etc.).  We collaborate with a number of churches from the community as well as civic organizations.  Our goal is to help carry the burdens of individuals and families which are too heavy for them to carry on their own (Galatians 6:2)!

We Promote a Christ Centered World View!

Compassionate Justice and our partners are guided by Biblical truth.  We incorporate Bible stories, prayer, and spiritual discussions within all of our programs.  We hope each participant will experience God's amazing love and grow closer to Jesus during their experience!
